Should you sell your lettings portfolio through a broker?
If you’re looking for support throughout selling your business, and help to find a quality buyer, then speak to a respected broker like The Haversley Group or Adam J Walker - they often match us to sellers on their books.
They’ll offer you extra support throughout the process, which is reassuring to have if it’s your first time selling a business, and they’ll typically charge 2% of your overall sale fee for the service.
Do you have to use a broker when you sell your business?
You don’t have to, you can do a deal directly with a buyer if you have someone in mind - some of our deals have been done directly with sellers and others have come to us through brokers.
If you do go directly to a buyer, make sure you always ask for proof of funds so you know the potential buyer isn’t wasting your time. A lot of people can be all talk when they offer to buy your business without having the means or resources to back up their proposition.
Do we have a preference?
We’re happy to deal with brokers or with sellers directly when buying lettings portfolios - with us you’ll get a fair price for your business and a quality buyer who plans on looking after your customers.
